Why events, why now?

One thing I firmly believe about marketing in 2026:

IRL events are theeee moment.

People are tired of all-screen-everything, all the time. Instead, marketing leaders are turning up the volume on events that resonate a lot longer than a fleeting digital moment.

I’m hearing about trends like:

  • Events where everybody has to hide or store their phones to be more present.

  • Micro-community events catered to niche interests. Quality over quantity, when it comes to who attends.

  • Events for only the most avid users of a product, based on usage.

Events are also great for capturing content you can use after the event, with your customers, industry experts, and execs/employees who are all onsite.

I love planning event content and social. I have a case study on my website from the Cannes content I created for Microsoft last year, and I’m working on event plans right now for a few of my clients.

Which leads me to this deck template!

Here’s a sample events deck you can use

This is the exact deck outline I’ve used to plan event content for brands in the past.

You can make a copy and use it for your needs! It includes placeholders for:

  • Executive summary

  • Main areas of focus

  • Goals

  • Daily content calendar

  • Past event performance learnings

  • Post checklist

  • EGC and creator slides

  • Post-event content capture

I figured this might help some marketers who are looking for a starting point to plan content for their end of spring events. I’m using and adapting it currently as I help a few clients navigate their content and social planning.

Let me know if this helps and if you want more like this! My Google Drive is full of these types of templates.

Content careers checklist + The Devil Wears Prada

My iPhone has been HOT this week… Not in a good way (literally, it gets hot when I film too many videos in a row and my battery gets dangerously low… I really need to be better about charging my phone)

I created a video on Tuesday sharing career advice for content marketers to prepare for the future, in partnership with Storyblok.

On Wednesday, I reimagined The Devil Wears Prada for the tech industry 💀 So many costume changes. I’m still exhausted.

🏆 Kids book of the week

7 Ate 9: The Untold Story by Tara Lazar

I love the wordplay and humor in this book, part of the same series as “The Upper Case: Trouble in Capital City.”

Great way to introduce your kids to the concept of homonyms, something they’ve probably already picked up on but will enjoy understanding more fully.

Thanks for reading

I’d love to help your team with people-generated content strategy development and execution. Just reply to this if that’s something you could use help with!
